PROSHARP Bauer Hones

Honing is the process of removing burr, or small imperfections on your steel produced by grinding wheels during sharpening. Bauer offers a collection of various hones — each with their own unique benefits — to help give you the cleanest edges possible each time you hit the ice.

Choosing the Right Hone

X-5 COMBI HONE – Designed with a large surface area, this premium hone features porcelain/ceramic on one side for coated steel and a diamond-like coating on the other for non-coated steel.
X-3 COMBI HONE – Designed with a small surface area, this premium hone features porcelain/ceramic on one side for coated steel and a diamond-like coating on the other for non-coated steel.
GUMMI HONE – Designed to be a support hone for your coated steel to help remove any remaining burr.
TEAR DROP HONE – With a larger surface area and an ergonomic shape, this hone is easier to handle while removing any burr from sharpening.
FORK HONE – A great quick-fix hone when you’ve lost an edge or gotten a real deep nick on your skate blades.
BASIC STONE – This traditional hone is designed to quickly remove any burr that may come as a result from sharpening.
